June 2007  Madison, Indiana SeaArk/Outdoor World Classic/Suzuki Classic
RESULTS
This was Catfish Masters of America's 3rd year for hosting this event. The first year I think we only
had 20 teams fishing and the 2nd year there was only 25 teams fishing, but for the year 2007 our club
with the help of a lot of other top angler's we doubled those numbers with ( 52 ) teams. We are very
pleased to see anglers from all over coming to Madison,Indiana to fish in this growing event.
We try a make these two days very enjoyable for our anglers. We offer 4 of the best motels in town.
The motels try to accomadate to the anglers needs and all of them have preselected spots in our event,
so if there angler finishes in that spot there room is paid for by that motel. So far in the past that has
happened to a few of the anglers.
This year Buddy Roberts the representive from SeaArk Boat Company based in Montecello,Ark.
was here to give away a boat.Buddy has also been here in Madison for our past events.SeaArk knows
that this event has a lot of there boats entered in this classic and that anglers are looking for that one
special boat to fish from and they build them.Personally I think SeaArk has that Boat. You will also be
be seeing a lot more from SeaArk here in Madison for a long time.
The trailer that came with the Boat was Sponsored by Outdoor World based in Washington,Indiana
This company also has been a past sponsor here in the classic. There representives Amanda & Jodie
The company is owned by Jerry & Lynn Stoll they to have been to Madison in the past. The Suzuki
boat motor was Sponsored by Suzuki and I don't have much more onthat connection, but we do greatly
thank them for there part in all this.
I also would like to thank Jeremy Leach for the work that he has put in on the classic. He's responsible for putting together the title
Sponsors Boat package. And has also brought in a lot of new anglers for the tournament.I hope that the classic has his help again for
2008.And many thanks to all of the sponsors that supported the 2007 Classic and they
SeaArk,Outdoor World LLC, Suzuki,Tite-Lok
Dick's Sporting Goods,Big O Tires,Koehler Tires,Walmart,Plapp's Pro Outdoors,A2O Boating Supply,S&S Marina,and a very special
thanks goes out to
Lucus & Erica Soule from Eagle Hollow Marina for those 2 meals that was served to our anglers.I know that
Erica and Lucus put a lot of time and hard work putting this together and that the anglers really appreicated this very much. The food
that was left from this event, which was a lot was taken to the youth shelter.
Now,I know I will forget something that should be put on our site and if I do send me a message on the message board.I am just
human you know.Also getting old.
Ok here we go, This year the field had double from the past so (2) time Champion's Shaftner Bowling and his partners had a lot
more to fish against.Well the 2006 ( 2nd ) place team of Jeremy Leach and Beacher Woolf came to change the finish for 2007.They
started the first day by weighing in (5) fish at 97 lbs.all where taken at Markland Dam.That give them a little over a 4lb lead on the
now 2nd place defending champions.Shafter and Gross had a great day as well finishing with 92.2lbs.
Second day was a little better for the SeaArk team weighing in 149.2 lbs with (5) fish. This team also had a nice 44 lb blue, but
there was a rule in place about the weighing of the angler;s big fish. The rule states its the Anglers Responsibillty to chose he's big
fish for weighing.Once weighed there are no reweighs and the other fish are added to get total weight.Seams to been some confusion
on this and the fish up first was a 38.8 lbs.It didn't matter in the end because there was a bigger fish weighed in latter. But,its very
important to me and felt bad about it,but a rule is a rule for all.
Second day for Shaftner Bowling and Danny Gross was a little short but weight in (5) nice fish at 91.4 lbs not enough to retain the
title for this years SeaArk/Outdoor World LLC/ Suzuki Classic held in Madison,Indiana. There total weight was 183.6 lbs.
Here is the list of finishes in order.

There is a lot to be said about the anglers that were competing in this tournament, from Mary
Waddell holding on with the big fish of the 1st day (36.2 lbs) to Steven Douglas finishing out
the 2nd day with huge 49.2 lb Blue.We only had (3) women fishing Mary Waddell from KY.
and Lynn Lange of Ohio who fishes mainly with the Duracats club hauled in a Monster Blue in
in one of there tournaments in 2005 a #88 lber, now thats a nice fish.
There is a lot to tell, but those story will have to wait for another day.Right now I have to start
working on the 2008 Classic and I think there is already
26 boats pre-registered for next June
28st & 29nd.
There will be a lot of changes made next year. They say you learn from your mistakes, well I
have.I hope to make a lot of changes that you will like.If any of the anglers have any type of
suggestion that will help send it to me.This year was great,But next year this field of anglers will
double.   Thank for a great turn-out see you next June.
